Apr 16, 2024

Get ready to experience Sundays like never before! Starting on 21 April 2024, Clay Café Paarl is introducing Sunday Funday, a weekly event that combines the joy of ceramic painting with the culinary excellence the café is known for.

Owned by Tamsin Snyman, a renowned culinary expert and food writer, Clay Café Paarl is a haven for ceramic enthusiasts and food lovers alike. Tamsin’s exceptional background in the food world, from her work with World of Mouth to her role in 12forward, guarantees that the dishes at Clay Café Paarl are a culinary delight.

Indulge in a Variety of Tastings

As part of Sunday Funday, guests can enjoy a variety of tastings that showcase some of the finest flavours from the Paarl region. Whether you prefer gin, wine, hot chocolate, or kombucha, there’s something to please every palate. These tastings offer a chance to sample the best of Paarl’s local products and flavours. Our first tasting is this Sunday 21st April, with Triple Three Distillery!

Explore the Beauty of Paarl

Beyond the café, Paarl offers a wealth of activities and sights. Known for its historical vineyards and mountain views, Paarl is one of the oldest towns in South Africa. Guests can explore the Paarl Wine Route, home to rich reds and crisp whites. Top wine farms in the area include Under Oaks, Nederburg Wines, and Fairview. Most of the wines we offer are sourced from the vineyards in the Paarl region.

For nature lovers, the Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve boasts stunning granite rock formations and picturesque landscapes. The Afrikaans Language Monument and Museum celebrate the town’s cultural heritage, while the Bird Sanctuary along the Berg River is a paradise for birdwatchers.

Make a Day of It!

Why not make a day of it? After a creative morning at Clay Café Paarl, continue your adventure in Paarl with a visit to Butterfly World, Le Bonheur Crocodile Farm, or the Lion Park. For those seeking even more artistic inspiration, stop by the Ikhwezi Centre to see works from Bhabhathane weavers and artists.

With Sunday Funday, Clay Café Paarl invites you to indulge in creativity and culinary excellence while exploring the natural beauty and rich history of the Paarl area. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Sunday Funday promises a day of flavor, fun, ceramic painting and fantastic memories!
